The Mobile Future of Flash
Looked at these videos on Adobe. ( HTC HD2 and Nexus One ), ( Adobe AIR mobile on Droid ) , ( Nexus One, HTC HD2, and Skylight ) , ( iPhone apps built with Flash ) , ( Dell Mini 5 tablet ) , ( iPhone games built with Flash )
These bring many promising thoughts to the future. Here are some of the questions raised that we won't know till these are all released but they are the same concerns I had when AIR was in development years ago.
- What type of data store will be possible (on each device).
- How many of the device unique features will be available. It's nice to run on a device but when someone buys say an iPhone what special iPhone features will be available.
- How easy will it be to build apps on these platforms?
- Will we build these with Flash Professional or will there be other IDE tools available.
- How will it be adobpted. Will it be both a game and business platform. What will the real world take be?
- When will these things come to pass?
- Will there marketing channels for these apps?
- How long will it take for business to welcome these solutions?

Buzz API
OK... all we need is another twitter, facebook, mySpace. Yet, here we go trying it out just the same!
I thought this might be of interest to some others. Here is the API page for Buzz. Oh, what is Buzz. It's a gMail add in at Google that is sorta like twitter, facebook and mySpace. We can be sure that it will not change the look and feel as often as facebook.
http://code.google.com/apis/buzz/ or http://code.google.com/apis/buzz/documentation/
P.S.
Buzz has profiles also. They are not public at this time but you can swap your profile from a number to a text based profile as I did. Search the profiles at http://www.google.com/profiles?q=john farrar and of course replace the name. You will see that the number comes up in the search but in your profile edit page you can swap the profile to use a handle rather than a number.

Vote for favorite CFUnited sessions
You can read about the rest there but here are my three suggested topics.
VOTE HERE (NOTE: The voting doesn't seem to work in IE here, worked in FireFox.)
- CFish Skinning and Device Sensitive Development
How much fun would it be if you could build your site and have them smartly deliver content to different devices off common logic? This is more than mobile, it is any device being delivered off the same site pages. Now how about adding in skinning the site and swapping out the skin without touching the application. Have all the browser and mobile devices follow with the decoupled presentation. We do it and if you come we will show you how.
- COOP (current title is "DRY View Coding with COOP" ... plan to rename it to "COOP v2, Prototype and View Super Framework")
CFCs are the what "cool" developers use today. But there was a day we used Custom Tags. For the Model and Controller CFCs make sense. But how do we code our view more efficently. This session will take you beyond how to build custom tags and show you why it is one of the greatest features ColdFusion offers. Learn these practices and it's easier to settle for code greatness
- OO done CF Style
OO is a popular topic but ColdFusion thinks just a little different than "pure Java". This session will present how to do Object Oriented code in ColdFusion and still let you think in ColdFusion.
Voting closes in a couple of days so please vote soon.
