I have gotten back into more leadership reading this year. With the change of guard from the Adobe Community Experts moving over to new venue of Adobe Community Professionals and my lofty community goals this year it seems like a good time to concentrate. Perhaps next year it will be a consideration but for this year I want more progress in my community projects than was achieved last year. That likely means speaking at a few less conferences on general Adobe topics and getting more focused.
I would like to invite others to send me email (while I leave my email in this post) to tell me what type of challenges you have with software development. We will be trying to create surveys to see what issues are more common and change the way we create software. Commercial products have a common scheme. They focus on what will bring in the sale. This is not a bad thing and some times this gives more a sense of reality than the schemes of dreamers. On the other hand there is power in the mind of dreamers that can one day turn into commercial ventures also.
With Open Source solutions you can have lots of change or no change. Change is not what makes things work. Progress is the key. So if you would focus where you can special comments on how you struggle as individual, team or any mix to achieve progress in your development it would be appreciated. I will enjoy reading the email as you fill my inbox like hundreds of little spammers... but this time it will be welcome. Cannot wait to have my inbox overrun and it not be spam!
